Pupils from Galleywall Primary School and Redriff Primary School were set the challenge of deciding which of a range of planets was the best candidate for a potential terraforming and colonization mission.
The pupils collected their evidence from varied experiments over the course of the day. They quickly got to grips with exciting new equipment as they analysed exotic soils, explored wild atmospheric conditions and tested potential energy sources on each planet.
The masterclass gave pupils the opportunity to make new friends, explore new scientific concepts and become familiar with differences between the fields of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and how they come together in real-world contexts.
Every single thing about the day was amazing! I loved Biology, I got to use a microscope for the first time
