Last week, the pupil-led CLS Medical Society hosted their annual conference - MediCon.

The conference, which is fully organised by CLS pupils, was a day designated for aspiring medics, with talks ranging from a GP to consultants in diabetes, neonatal medicine, anaesthesia and emergency medicine.

Pupils from the City of London Family of Schools joined those here at CLS to listen to interesting talks about a day in the life of a busy doctor, as well as tips for making a competitive university application to study medicine. Pupils had the opportunity to ask questions to three of our alumni who now study medicine at prestigious universities.

Another highlight of the day included a demonstration on intubating a patient with specialist technology, details regarding new research involving nuclear medicine (Lutetium-177 PSMA Therapy) and an exemplar interview question and response.

The CLS Medical Society would like to thank all those involved, including Mrs Chambers and Mr Hall and the speakers who dedicated their time to giving such useful talks. We would also like to thank those who came along and hopefully learnt something valuable.
