The evening featured two epic choral works, both settings of the ancient Christian hymn Te Deum, conducted by Director of Music, Mr. Quesnel.

The first piece was by contemporary Estonian composer Arvo Pärt. Known for his minimalist yet deeply spiritual style, Pärt’s Te Deum created a hauntingly ethereal atmosphere. The performance featured an unusual prepared piano and an electronic wind harp, adding a modern and otherworldly dimension to the timeless prayer.

The second half of the concert presented a dramatic contrast with Anton Bruckner’s majestic Te Deum. The full-sized symphony orchestra and choir—comprising over 150 talented pupils from both schools—delivered a stirring performance of the 19th-century masterpiece. The powerful combination of voices and instruments filled the hall with triumphant grandeur.

The evening was a testament to the exceptional musical talent and collaborative spirit of the two schools. It was a performance that will undoubtedly be remembered as a highlight of the musical calendar.
