Pupils in our First Form recently enjoyed an exciting visit from acclaimed author, screenwriter and director David Farr, who came to speak about his latest book – The Book of Stolen Dreams: The Final Battle. Farr, best known for his work on stage and screen – including adaptations for the Royal Shakespeare Company and the television series The Night Manager – captivated pupils with his insights into storytelling and creativity.
He spoke about the inspiration behind his new novel, sharing how ideas can grow from everyday observations into full stories. Pupils were encouraged to ask questions, ranging from his writing process to the challenges of moving between theatre, film, and fiction.
The talk not only gave our pupils a glimpse into the life of a professional writer but also reminded them of the power of imagination and persistence. Farr’s passion for storytelling left the group buzzing with ideas, and many were keen to pick up a copy of his new book.
