A dozen aspiring CLS & CLSG pupil workshop leaders practised how to lead activities in singing with primary schools. They focussed on body warmups, vocal exercises and teaching ‘Raising the Roof’ – a song cycle composed by Mr Quesnel for a musical celebration of Sir Christopher Wren to take place under the dome of St Paul’s Cathedral.
They were welcomed to St Barnabas Primary School in Pimlico where they were able to apply their teaching skills alongside William Bruce, Director of Choral Partnerships at St Paul’s Cathedral. Mr Bruce then came to CLS to run the final session with City+ pupils, reflecting on what they’d learned, and teaching them more songs as well as tips and tricks.
Join us on Wednesday 29 April at 6.30pm for Raising the Roof at St Paul’s Cathedral.
