Enduring Influence Award winner, novelist Julian Barnes (Class of 1964) was interviewed by Junior Sixth Form pupil, Petru, in the Winterflood Theatre about his writing process, life at the old school building and some more philosophical musings on the reliability of memory in front of an audience of pupils and a keen Old Citizens.
Just a week later and Dr Norris Igbineweka (Class of 2005), winner of the Emerging Talent Award headed to the Biology department to deliver a talk about his research in to sickle cell disease. Norris shared his insight in to the challenges of crossing from clinical medicine to the research bench and the skills need to thrive in the sector. Pupils came armed with questions and we hope to have Norris back soon!
