Paid Opportunity for Old Citizens

The Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement Team are looking for 12 Old Citizen callers from the Class of 2026, 2025, and 2024 to work on our telephone campaign this Autumn term.

This short term, paid role involves speaking with Old Citizens and CLS parents on the phone to raise funds for the CLS Bursary Programme. It is also a chance to reconnect Old Citizens with their alumni community.

Calling will take place at City of London School between Monday 2 November – Thursday 12 November 2026, with shifts from 6pm-9pm.

There will be two compulsory training days (paid) on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November.

No prior experience is required – you just need to be able to talk confidently about your time at CLS.

You will:
  • Be paid £14 per hour
  • Have the opportunity to speak to other Old Citizens about their time at CLS and their life and careers after
  • Be expected to attend at least 5 shifts during the campaign
  • Receive full paid training on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November
Duties of an Old Citizen Caller
  • Call Old Citizens and CLS parents. As far as possible we will match you to people who have similar interests to you – maybe what they studied at university, careers they went onto, and other interests
  • Engage them in conversation about City of London School
  • Update them on CLS news and events
  • Ask them if they’d like to support the CLS Bursary Programme by committing to a regular direct debit
  • Update their contact details and career information
  • Keep an accurate record of the call, and write a thank-you card if they donate
