External inspections provide an independent insight into the School, its management, and its performance

Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI)

A Regulatory Compliance Inspection was conducted by the ISI in May 2017. We are delighted to say that the School met all the required standards with no recommendations for improvement.

The inspection process was very positive with plenty of compliments for the management of the School and the achievements of the boys.

The School had its last full ISI inspection in May 2011. Their report’s main finding is that:

"City of London School is exceptionally successful"

The pupils benefit from "high standards of care" and “are well rounded and balanced, secure in a very supportive framework that allows them to be happy at school.” Their “spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is outstanding”.

The report goes on to praise the "excellent and challenging curriculum", the "exceptionally wide range of high quality extra-curricular activities" and the "excellent teaching" that, along with “exceptional leadership and management” and the support of an “excellent governing body”, all go into making the School an "exceptional intellectual and cultural community".

This is one of the most positive inspection reports that you are likely to read about any school.
