Richard Mutter (Class of 1982)

Richard Mutter joined The City of London School and The Temple Church choir at age 10 (1975). He won the Progress prize in 2B1 and was awarded the prize at prizegiving by the Lord Mayor of London. He did numerous solos at The Temple Church, including the duo in Splendente TE by Mozart on the reissue of the 1977 LP on a subsequent 1996 CD set "The Glory of the Temple Church Choir".

He was a senior from 1978 and Head boy from 1979-80. He then went to Swansea University to study IT, and played squash for the University of Wales. He then lived in Sicily for 18 months, learning Italian and teaching English. During an operetta tour in Italy in 1987 with the company of Sandro Massimini, he visited many Italian locations. He subsequently moved to Toulouse and spent 18 months there, where he perfected his French and taught English. Then he moved back to the Hitchin area, living in Ashwell. Subsequently, he worked for Mercury, Pegasus, then using the PeopleSoft software package became head of HR IT at ING bank, then moved to HSBC. After that, in about 2012 he moved to Kainos as an HR IT and software consultant. In 2018 he created his own consultancy firm. He continued consultancies until after he was diagnosed in December 2019. He was happily married with two sons, living in Baldock.

He passed away peacefully on 16th August 2021 with his family present at the tender age of 56. Noted for inspiring his work colleagues he received many testimonials.
