Over 100 education professionals from UK and international coaching schools gathered to participate in a range of workshops, panel discussions and interactive activities designed to hone their coaching skills and share best practice. Reflecting the international nature of the education coaching community, we were particularly pleased to welcome attendees from Germany, Czechia, Cyprus and Uganda to this year’s event.

During the day, seven pupils from our in-house Peer Mentoring and Coaching programme were interviewed by Graydin Co-Founder McKenzie Cerri for a pupil coaching panel. Pupils shared their reflections on the value of coaching younger pupils, as well as its benefits to their own lives. One pupil commented that coaching offers him the chance to live out the School’s values in action, while another shared reflections on his journey from Lower School coachee to fully fledged Sixth Form coach.

Two pupils also participated in a live coaching demonstration, showcasing their thoughtful questioning and active listening – skills they have been honing through their involvement CLS’s in-house programme.

On the day, CLS was delighted to be given a Graydin Schools Coaching Award, designed to celebrate schools integrating a coaching culture and recognise progress and commitment to Graydin’s coaching principles. The “Sprout” Award we received recognises of our work on peer coaching and celebrates the successes of City’s Peer Mentoring and Coaching Programme which this year involves over 160 pupils across the School community.click To find out more about Graydin Coaching
