After a briefing from an engineer they geared up in their PPE and were taken around two construction sites. The sheer scale of this project was extremely impressive and pupils had a chance to chat with site workers, engineers and architects about the project.
The visit was part of the EDT Gold Cadets project. Pupils are partenered with the firm ARCADIS and have been tasked to come up with the design of a bridge over a dockland area of London, so this visit to HS2 proved to be quite the inspiration for their projects.
