Following an impressive semi-final win against Alleyn’s School, the team turned their focus to the championship game, where they faced a strong Whitgift side. In what proved to be a competitive and hard-fought contest, CLS demonstrated composure and teamwork to gradually pull away and secure the title.
The final showcased the team’s cohesion, with contributions coming from across the squad in both defence and offence. Their disciplined play and relentless energy ultimately proved decisive, allowing CLS to maintain control in the closing stages and seal a convincing win.
Ethan delivered an outstanding performance on the night and was deservedly named MVP, recognising his impact in helping guide the team to victory.
The triumph caps a perfect LISBA League campaign for CLS, with the team going the entire season without losing a single game – an impressive achievement that highlights both their consistency and determination throughout the year.
Even more notably, this marks the second consecutive year that this group of players has been crowned LISBA champions. Back-to-back titles are a testament to the team’s hard work, commitment in training and their ability to work together to produce excellent team performances week after week.
The victory not only celebrates another successful season for the Under 14 squad but also underlines the strength of basketball at City of London School, with a talented group of players continuing to set high standards for those coming through the programme.
