This culminated in a trip to the Handel Hendrix House in central London – two houses on Brook Street, Mayfair, in which coincidentally, Handel and Hendrix were neighbours just 200 years apart!
Pupils began with a improvised composition workshop in a newly refurbished studio, before having a tour of the historically restored Handel House – including his kitchen and dining room! – and had a chance to see some of Handel’s very own keyboard instruments such as the organ and harpsichord.
A visit to Jimi Hendrix’s flat just next door immersed them in the world of the 1960s, and, there was even a chance to dress up at the end.
