The day began in our Design, Computing and Robotics department, where Director of Innovative Design and Visual Arts, Mr Jones, introduced the pupils to the exciting world of drone technology. They learned how drones are used in everyday life and even had the opportunity to build and pilot their own drones using laptops – a definite highlight of the morning!

Next, they explored their musical talents in a workshop led by our music teacher, Mr Jacklin. Together, they learned a traditional folk song and developed their sense of rhythm and timing through a fun and interactive group activity.

The final session of the day took place with our Philosophy department. Head of Religion and Philosophy, Mr Findlay, guided the group through big ideas such as the origins of time and the difference between the brain and the mind. It was inspiring to see the pupils so engaged, eagerly contributing their thoughts and questions to the discussion.

To wrap up the day, the pupils joined us for lunch in our canteen – a well-earned break after such an action-packed schedule and a real glimpse into what a school day is like here at CLS.

We thoroughly enjoyed hosting the pupils from Redriff Primary and hope to run similar events for other primary schools in the future.

If your school would like to take part in a future Discovery Day at CLS, please get in touch with our Bursary Programme Manager, Menna El-Guindy on elguindym@cityoflondonschool.org.uk.
