Pupils had the chance to sing alongside Voces scholars, workshopping some music they sung on their recent tour to Lille, as well as preparing some new repertoire for an upcoming Evensong.
The session began with an in-depth, engaging warm-up, which loosened up the body and voice, followed by the learning of a folk song, where the scholars challenged pupils to improvise their own harmony over the top of the melody.
An informal sharing at lunchtime saw a short performance of the 3 pieces by the joint Voces8 and Camerata group, with a Q&A session at the end giving pupils a chance to pick Voces8’s brains about a career as a professional ensemble singer.
It was a wonderful morning of music making for all!
