CLS Medical Society pupils host MediCon 2022

Thursday, 03 March 2022

Amidst the interminable list of higher education events hosted by CLS, last weekend two Sixth Form pupils, Luke and Kian, hosted 'MediCon', a collection of live talks, panels, and Q&A sessions, with speakers ranging from a fifth-year medical student to an ex-colonel who currently works for the WHO in emergency planning.

The event, hosted both online and in-person, was a success; it attracted over 100 attendees from CLS, CLSG, and the wider City of London schools community, raising over £200 for the School’s charitable fund.

Mr Rogers, the Head of CLS society MedSoc, expressed how impressed he was at the event, with many of the speakers stating that it was the best iteration of MediCon to date.

Topics covered included the application process of both Medical School and Foundation Year placements, the life and roles of a Junior Doctor, the responsibilities and lifestyle of a senior physician, and reflections on a career in medicine overall. The valuable information provided both key insights into the processes involved all the way through the career path and great help with putting each one of these processes into a wider perspective.

We are extremely proud of the pupils who worked tirelessly to organise the event and thank you to all the speakers who gave such informative sessions on the day.

The event attracted over 100 attendees from CLS, CLSG, and the wider City of London schools community.
