CLS Strengthens links with Chapel Royal

Tuesday, 14 March 2017

The choir of the Chapel Royal, St. James’s Palace, will be administered and run through the City of London School. CLS has educated the choristers of the Chapel Royal, St. James’s Palace, for many years.

The association has been a very positive one for both the School and the Palace, furnishing us and the Palace with some very talented musicians. This has achieved continuity of education for boys who are called upon to sing at regular Sunday Services, State occasions and at other events.

From this September, the Music Director of the Chapel Royal, St James's Palace will be appointed by the School as a full-time member of our music staff. S/he will take on the training and administration of the Choir, while performing additional duties within our Music Department. This is an exciting opportunity for CLS to strengthen our links with the Royal Household and to be central to the development of the Choir in future years. It will also allow us to reinforce the wonderful music already established at the School by increasing the staffing and expertise we can offer.

This is an exciting opportunity for CLS be central to the development of the Choir in future years.
