A level and GCSE Summer Art Show

Monday, 03 July 2017

The Art department recently showcased the best of the A Level and GCSE courses at the annual exhibition.

The breadth of pieces on display at the Annual Summer Art Exhibition serves as a testimony to the wide range of equipment and freedom offered by the Art and Design Department. The GCSE year presented many vibrant prints using different methods taught throughout the course, using Silk Screen, Woodcut and Intaglio to name a few.

The Sixth Form exhibits were personally curated, creating a dynamic viewing space. Some pieces presented were the result of a comprehensive life drawing course undertaken through the Autumn term.

The Junior Sixth artworks demonstrated the many media explored through the first year of the A level course whilst the Senior Sixth exhibits showed how students are allowed to choose their own route and produce original artworks. With a wide variety of artwork came a wide variety of degree choice: Car Design, Philosophy and Architectural Engineering to name a few.
