Oliver wins Erasmus Competition
Congratulations to Oliver in the Senior Sixth who has won the prestigious Erasmus competition, which is designed to stimulate reading and thought. This year's topic was Evil.
In taking up the challenge of this highbrow and academically demanding competition, Oliver went up against the likes of Benenden School, Charterhouse, Oundle School, Rugby School, Dulwich College, Shrewsbury School, Winchester College and Wycombe Abbey. The Judges felt that Oliver’s entry was a clear winner and they were extremely impressed by the quality of his work.
In early September he sat the three-hour challenge, picking one essay from a choice of ten, having spent the summer reading from a long and cerebral list. This is a fantastic opportunity for independent and self-starting work and Oliver has done an amazing job in winning this competition. He intends to study Philosophy at university.
