Alex achieves national top score in CISI Certificate
Head Boy Alex has achieved the national top score in the CISI Certificate for the Introduction to Securities and Investment and has been invited to an awards ceremony in April.
The qualification provides a basic introduction to the financial services industry with a focus on investments. Students learn the nature and purpose of the retail, wholesale (professional) sectors, as well as the main products and market structures of equities, debt, commodities and derivatives. The qualification includes a 3,000-4,000 word extended essay and a 50-question multiple choice exam. Alex’s essay was based on the question "Evaluate the Advantages and Disadvantages of Investing in Alternatives to equities and bonds."
CLS started teaching this certificate last year with one pilot group and interest in the qualification has since increased. We currently have two sets preparing for the course this year.
Congratulations to Alex on this achievement.
