New School Record set at Sports Day

Friday, 15 June 2018

Last week boys from OG to Third Form fought in the annual Sports Day battle at Grove Park. Supported by friends, family, and fellow members of the tutor groups, the boys competed in a competition which took place over four days and provided a decent break from exams in the South London sunshine.
Each form group quite literally put their best foot forward to compete by form in the standards (100m, 200m, shotput, javelin, triple jump and long jump) and track competitions. In track the boys can compete in two individual races and one relay.

Gabriel (Third Form) managed to set a new school record, running 200m in 25.91 seconds. Top individual results included Harry, who was awarded the runner’s crown for finishing 1500m in 5.17mins, 400m in 1.06mins and the 800m in 2.36mins. Giovanni (OG) beat the 100m record and Faizan won javelin (27.75m) and long jump (4.90m). Well done to all those involved and to those who set new records which boys will be looking to break next year.

Many thanks to the Friends of CLS who were there showing support with coffee and biscuits as well as the much-welcomed cheering and clapping throughout the day.
