It's beginning to look at lot like Christmas
The Great Hall snapped to life with our annual Christmas Concert on Tuesday evening. Each performance was pitch perfect with an abundance of Christmas songs to create a warm, cheerful mood. Every band, quartet or ensemble included a number of solos allowing every band member to shine and had every member in the audience clapping.
The grand finale was performed by the Jazz Orchestra, which had talented musicians ranging from Upper 6th form to 3rd form; consisted of many different instruments of all shapes and sizes and finished the evening with ‘Santa Baby’ and ‘Sir Duke’.
The audience, consisting of parents, staff, pupils and friends were treated to everything in between, with the Ukulele Orchestra playing music by Twenty-One Pilots, the String Quartet playing Tchaikovsky and the Swing band playing ‘The Most Wonderful Time of The Year’.
Furthermore, excellent solos came by Archie on the Alto Saxophone and Victor on the Soprano Saxophone.
It was a very fitting way to spread the Christmas spirit and we're sure that next year’s performance will be just as spectacular.
