Fourth Former Ryan presents at Big Bang Fair for Young Scientists and Engineers

Monday, 25 March 2019

Fourth Former, Ryan managed to clear regionals to and got to national level at the Big Bang Fair. The Big Bang UK Young Scientists and Engineers Fair is the UK's largest celebration of STEM for young people, held annually with 120,000+ visitors. Held at the NEC in Birmingham, Ryan presented his working exhibit on "Nuclear Radiation Detection" as a national level finalist.

The Worshipful Company of Scientific Instrument Makers (a Livery company of the City of London) considered Ryan at top marks for an award of "Young Scientific Instrument Maker". The Master of Company, Mr Kenneth Sanders visited Ryan's stand and appreciated his project. Unfortunately, Ryan was a year too young to be given the award but Mr Sanders asked Ryan to come back to the fair next year.

Ryan showed great enthusiasm in demonstrating his exhibit to dozens of groups of teachers and students from schools across the region that visited his stand.

We are extremely proud of Ryan's achievements and wish him luck for next year's competition.
