Hamburg students visit CLS
This week, our Modern Languages department have played host to a group of German pupils and two members of staff from Helene Lange Gymnasium in Hamburg.
Pictured are the group of Fourth Form partners, who are currently undertaking an extensive programme of London sightseeing and cultural events. They have taken a boat around the canals of Little Venice, watched the 911 musical ‘Come from Away’ at the Phoenix Theatre, been to the BBC to participate in a news broadcast and played Romeo and Juliet in a workshop at the Globe Theatre. They have also been getting to know family life in London and touring many of the other great sights with their host families at the weekend.
During their time in School, the pupils have been attending lessons. Together with their partners, they wrote and performed a series of dramatic scenes in a “two-minute soap opera” extravaganza.
Meanwhile, a group of eight Sixth Form Hamburg pupils has been out and about in the City of London on work experience placements. Locations include two local schools, a branding and marketing start-up, finance and engineering firms and the Guildhall. We are particularly grateful to all those who have hosted these invaluable work placements for us.
The CLS group travels to Hamburg for the return leg of the trip in February 2020.
