CLS aims to become an Eco School

Tuesday, 27 October 2020

This term, a new committee, chaired by Eco-Schools Co-ordinator, Mr Thomson, and guided by pupils has emerged to tackle one big issue: Climate Change. Pupils are in a unique chance to rebuild shattered systems in a sustainable manner. In this way, the CLS Eco Committee seeks to achieve the Green Flag Award. Reaching this benchmark of management and environmental health will be no short-term endeavour but will require the combined efforts of both the Committee and Action team, as well as the wider School community.

To begin with, the committee has set their sights on energy efficiency as their first objective, followed by other pressing issues including reducing litter and general wastage, supporting the biodiversity of our local area, and encouraging healthy living for all pupils.

We can't wait to see what the committee can achieve!
