CLS and CLSG take home prestigious iGEM prize
Pupils from CLS and CLSG joined forces to take on the genetic engineering competition, iGEM; the first time the two schools have entered as one team, and took away a silver medal.
Competing against 65 different High School teams globally, the team designed a project to degrade cocaine before it reaches the Thames. They were delighted to both be nominated for best presentation, best poster, best wiki and best inclusivity, and to walk away with the iGEMer’s prize, which was selected by a ballot in which all university and high school iGEM teams voted.
Team member, Louis, commented: “This never would have been possible without the collaboration with CLSG. We truly banded together to create one City of London team - the only European high school team to compete this year.”
