David Grossel History Essay Winner
Year 11 pupil, Thomas, has been named as a joint winner of the 2021 David Grossel History competition.
The essay competition is in memory of David Grossel, a former History teacher, and receives entries from GCSE pupils at all of David’s previous schools (City of London School, Haberdashers’ Aske’s, Kingston Grammar School, UCS Hampstead, KCS Wimbledon, and Hampton).
Thomas wrote a response to the title 'It was the German elites who were most responsible for the accession of Hitler to power in January 1933'. His essay stood out to the judges "because of its laser-like focus on the relationship between the elites and the ability of the Nazi electoral machine to reach a broader base of support than other parties which was its key attraction to the elites."
Well done Thomas.
