Sir Anthony Seldon talks to CLS

Wednesday, 19 May 2021

Last week the Politics Society hosted their first live speaker of the year, Sir Anthony Seldon. Widely renowned contemporary historian, political journalist and biographer, Seldon’s work as an author has included the biographies of significant British politicians, from Margret Thatcher to David Cameron. His recent work, The Impossible Office? The History of the British Prime Minister explores the varying successes and failures of Britain’s leaders, as well as the ever-changing relationship between the Monarchy and the Office.

Seldon explored such themes in his talk that the Sixth Form last week. The talk proved to be an insightful and thoughtful one, with Seldon engaging well with eager pupils who had a lot of questions to ask. We would like to thank Sir Anthony for taking the time to come to speak to our pupils and we hope that more speakers will be in School soon.
