Lord Winston spoke on areas which he has worked in for many years, including issues around fertility, the issues with efficacy of the ‘egg-freezing’ technique, the ethical issues surrounding gene editing and the moralities of the use of Science and scientific knowledge.
He received some excellent questions from the pupils in attendance, and answered them all thoughtfully and carefully. One of the pupils in attendance described the talk as ‘the most interesting talk she had ever been too’, and a number of pupils stayed behind (delaying their lunch), to thank Lord Winston for his time and words.
