The fort, inspired by a scale model designed by Miss Rose, their Classics Teacher, has been over a year in the making! Pupils dedicated countless hours to recreating the structure, learning both about Roman military architecture and the practical challenges of construction along the way.
Aaron, one of the pupils involved, summed up the effort with humour:
“The model was made out of cardboard, paint, glue and our blood, sweat and tears!

The project not only showcases the pupils’ creativity and teamwork but also brings ancient history vividly to life for the school community. The fort will be displayed as a testament to their hard work and passion for the subject in the School library.
