Reuniting after their standout GCSE drama debut, pupil co-directors steered this ambitious production to remarkable success. The cast rose spectacularly to the challenge with Prospero commanding the stage, infusing the exiled sorcerer with a flamboyant spitefulness that marked a striking departure from his previous role as the smooth-talking Sky Masterson in the performance of Guys and Dolls at CLSG.
The production was elevated by its beautifully crafted set, a soundscape of eerie island noises, and striking multimedia elements brought to life by the CLS tech team. Every detail contributed to an immersive experience that proved Shakespeare can still captivate audiences, even in a compact runtime.
