The pupils worked in groups of three to demonstrate their chemistry knowledge, skills and aptitude for analytical science through practical analytical experiments based on relevant societal or industrial problems.

One of the pupils commented on the day:

“I found it to be a really enjoyable event, as we spent the day racing to figure out a variety of enjoyable questions while undertaking a range of practicals. From the satisfying titrations to the classic flame tests, this was a great way to not only consolidate my skills as a chemist but also gave me a much greater appreciation for the lab technicians!

I greatly thank everyone who made the event possible, with it being a great and refreshing alternative to usual lessons. I would highly recommend!”
