The Arkwright Scholarship is widely regarded as the most prestigious engineering scholarships in the UK, designed to identify and support the country’s future leaders in engineering, technology and design. The process is exceptionally competitive, involving a demanding aptitude examination and formal interview process that assesses not only technical understanding, but also creativity, problem solving and future potential.
To see two CLS pupils recognised at this level is fantastic. Being awarded an Arkwright Scholarship is a significant national achievement and places them amongst a very small group of pupils each year identified for their exceptional promise within STEM and engineering disciplines. We are all enormously proud of them.
I have been consistently impressed by their commitment, curiosity and the quality of work they produce throughout this process and within the DCR department. They approach challenges with real maturity, creativity and determination, and thoroughly deserve this recognition.
Mark Jones, Director of Design and Innovation
