Great hall looked dazzlingly festive, audience members enjoyed some mulled wine, mince pies, and cheese, as they were serenaded by some delightful seasonal performances, hosted by the wonderfully charismatic Mr Crockatt and the Music Department.
Swing Band kicked off the festivities with their rendition of some Christmas classics, such as Who Let the Elves Out? and Frosty the Snowman; followed by Clarinet Ensemble’s performance of 500 Miles, and Wind Ensemble’s performance of You Got A Friend in Me. The first half was rounded off with the stylings of the Winter Wind Band from CLSG, who treated us to the Jingle Bell Swing.
The second half was over to the Jazz Orchestra, who performed a variety of festive classics showcasing the swinging sounds of Bing Crosby and Michael Buble; featuring solo vocalists from CLS and CLSG, as well as a merry group of backing singers, some highlights were Yukai and Nashita’s rendition of Here Comes Santa Claus, as well as Lucas’s rendition of Jingle Bells, to round off the whole evening.
