Our Drama Productions

Large-scale polished productions offer an ideal opportunity for pupils and staff of all talents to participate in group projects and contribute according to their interests, as well as showing the community the best of what the School has to offer in this particular field and to work together in a way that is not possible within a normal school programme. This is also a good opportunity to raise the profile of the subject amongst the School community.

We stage a minimum of three major productions per year in collaboration with CLSG. We stage an Upper School Production in Autumn Term, a Lower School Production in the Summer Term and a variety of productions in the Spring Term such as Student productions or something produced by a member of the teaching staff from outside the Department (there have been English Department productions in recent years). In the Spring Term of 2015, the usual Student Production took place as well as the preview shows for a Production being taken up to the Edinburgh Fringe in August of that year. Smaller productions by pupils and experimental work is also an important part of any extra-curricular programme, where pupils can develop skills and explore and present new ideas in a more intimate workshop atmosphere.

School Productions involve a large number of students in all capacities. Some boys opt to act whilst others enjoy the experience offered by joining the Tech Team or working as a stage-hand.
