We Are Aware.
Engendering a sense of awareness in pupils and staff is one of our key aims. We nurture a deep-seated sense of social responsibility, actively seek to establish meaningful partnerships, and are enriched by our role in the wider community. This helps our pupils both to understand the responsibilities they have to society and their potential to make a difference. Our boys appreciate that through working with and understanding others, we are strengthened ourselves
We are proud to be part of the City of London Corporation’s family of schools, which provides us with opportunities both to learn and contribute. Links with City of London School for Girls are strong, particularly in co-curricular activities such as Music, Drama, CCF and in a range of Clubs and Societies. We engage in meaningful partnership work with City of London academies, particularly in relation to university admissions. This is driven by a desire to improve the outcomes for young people from across London.
Our outreach programme is extensive. CLS has for a number of years worked alongside Ark Bentworth Primary Academy, IntoUniversity and has forged a transatlantic partnership with Project Rousseau. More recently, we set-up a project with City of London Corporation Virtual School to provide a programme of tuition and enrichment for young asylum seekers who are not currently placed in full-time education. A high premium is placed on pupil involvement and the vibrant Community Service Organisation is evidence of the commitment of the boys.
Our premises are regularly used by a range of charitable organisations. For example, we are now home to the London Youth Choir (whose rehearsals and concerts all take place at CLS) and play host to the annual national conference for the Samaritans.
Regular and ongoing partnership work is done between CLS and:
We uphold strong moral values, honesty and integrity, valuing service to others and charitable giving, and recognise in doing so that we ourselves are strengthened and enriched.
