A breadth of opportunities aimed to enthuse boys to be active in later life
While football is the School's major field sport, played during both the Autumn and Spring Terms, the School has four 'major' sports that the P.E department focus on:
- Water Polo & Swimming
CLS is proud of its achievements in these, regularly competing at regional and national level.
The school also recognises and invests heavily in the need to offer and support a wide variety of more specialist minor sports. These activities are termed minor sports due to the numbers of boys involved rather than the way each activity is perceived across the sports programme. The aim is to provide an opportunity to excel for some as well as a positive and different experience for those pupils who are less focused on major team sports. We hope that in providing easy access to these sports, pupils will make a commitment in an activity during their school days and then continue this interest into later life. It has been no surprise that the boys at CLS have taken to their involvement in minor sports with total dedication and commitment, many of whom now train and compete at an elite level in regional and national competitions. Several boys have recently achieved international honours in Fencing, Athletics, Table Tennis.
Our minor sports include:
- Indoor Rowing
- Indoor Climbing
- Table Tennis
