A breadth of opportunities aimed to encourage pupils to be active in later life
While football is the School's major field sport, played during both the Autumn and Spring Terms, there are four 'major' sports that the P.E department focus on:
- Water Polo & Swimming
We are proud of our pupil's achievements in these, regularly competing at regional and national level.
We recognise and invests heavily in our offering of more specialist minor sports. These activities are termed minor sports due to the numbers of pupils involved rather than the way each activity is perceived across the sports programme. The aim is to provide an opportunity to excel for some as well as a positive and different experience for those pupils who are less focused on major team sports. We hope that in providing easy access to these sports, pupils will make a commitment to an activity during their school days and then continue this interest into later life. It has been no surprise that pupils at CLS have taken to their involvement in minor sports with total dedication and commitment, many of whom now train and compete at an elite level in regional and national competitions. Several pupils have recently achieved international honours in Fencing, Athletics and Table Tennis.
Our minor sports include:
- Indoor Rowing
- Indoor Climbing
- Table Tennis
