Each academic year, our pupils are asked to vote on who they’d like to have as the CLS Partner Charity for that year. For 2022-23, CLS chose Providence Row, a London-based charity that provides a vital service, tackling homelessness and helping people get off the street and stay off the street.
This year our pupils, through a plethora of activities, events and sales have raised an eye-watering £103,830.01. The fundraising activities ranged from a number of cake and pizza sales throughout the year; collection buckets and volunteers at almost every CLS event held on site; the regular favourite quiz and curry night, and more. We even saw three pupils undertake the London Tube Challenge, in which they travelled through every Tube station in a single day, raising money from friends, family and peers in the process!
Pupils got active as our annual sponsored Rows and Walks saw over £18,000 raised and our own Mr Bird conquered the Three Peaks Challenge!
Community Fundraising Manager Paul Tomlinson commented: ‘We at Providence Row have truly been taken aback by the enthusiasm and passion that the students and staff of CLS have shown in raising funds in many diverse ways in order to help homeless persons and rough sleepers in the London area. Not only were we so grateful that we were chosen as the School’s Charity of the Year but we have been so encouraged by the very warm interaction across the year. We have felt that we have gained friends and people who care about the work we do to support vulnerable people to get back on their feet. It is no overstatement to say that our experience with CLS has been exceptional. The amount raised by CLS has been ‘mind-blowing’ We would love to work with CLS again!’
