This week saw the three performances of Pupil Production ‘Blindsided’. Written by Sixth Form pupil, Sam, the twisty noir courtroom drama lived up to its name with a feverish, unpredictable plot and ferocious dialogues that didn’t let up until the play’s last line.
Directed by fellow Junior Sixth Form pupil, Charlie, and featuring a cast of some of the finest actors from CLS and CLSG’s Sixth Form, and a crew of tech team veterans, the play followed Sam’s lawyer, Lincoln, who goes to extreme lengths trying to defend a man who killed his late daughter’s abuser, all the while juggling the pressures of a runaway sister and the inevitable media circus a trial of this variety will attract.
Beyond the stage of the CLS Winterflood theatre, this play is heading up to the Edinburgh Fringe in August, a huge moment for all involved and opportunity for those who missed it to see the incredible creation.
The immersive nature of the performance in which characters appeared from the audience as well as the stage really captivated the eagar audience of pupils, staff and parens.
The annual pupil production is always a moment of great pride for the School, as so much work put in by the pupils.
