Senior Sixth Form pupil, Carter, has been selected as one of only five pupils to represent the UK at the upcoming European Physics Olympiad in Georgia this July.
After having achieved a Gold award in November’s British Physics Olympiad, he finished thirteenth in the second round, and was then invited to the British training camp at Oxford during the Easter holidays.
To even make the Physics team is a real acomplishment in itself.
3137 pupils from 482 schools took part in Round 1, of which only 184 received a Top Gold. From those, only 119 were eligible for Round 2, of which only 35 got a Gold – and Carter was not only a Gold, but also in the top 13 chosen to go to the British Training Camp.
This is a superb achievement and we can’t wait to hear how the European Olympiad goes.
