CLS Futures Department Host Careers in Tech Networking Breakfast

Earlier this week, over 50 pupils attended the Careers in Tech Networking Breakfast, the second of four Networking Breakfasts this term for Fourth to Sixth Formers.

The pupils were excited to rotate around tables in small groups with a fantastic group of 11 CLS Parents and Alumni, who enthusiastically shared insights into their careers, ranging from FinTech, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Startups, Digital Technology, Sales and Telecom.

Some of the reflections from pupils were:

I found it very interesting how much the tech industry changes and the crucial need to be flexible and adaptable to the ever-changing industry which requires a significant number of career switches whilst learning up and coming skills!

This was a valuable opportunity for pupils to explore their academic interests outside the classroom and to see that career paths are rarely linear (an example being the Mechanical Engineer who is now CFO of a leading Telecom).

I thought that the different ways one can transition into technology interesting – it doesn’t have to be that you start on a set path into the field.

The school’s iconic location allows us to draw in a wide variety of the parent/ alumni community who may work nearby. Thank you to those CLS parents and alumni who so generously gave up their time today to support our pupils.
