This exciting celebration, themed “Chinese Language: Building a Bridge of Mutual Learning among Civilizations,” brought together nearly 100 pupils from multiple UK secondary schools to engage in a variety of Chinese cultural experiences.
The CLS pupil representative delivered a speech addressing peers from six schools across the UK. His participation underscored the school’s commitment to fostering global citizenship and intercultural dialogue. The event featured a variety of immersive workshops, including traditional bookmark making, ancient printing techniques, Peking opera mask painting, a virtual reality tour of China, fan dancing, and sword dancing. These activities provided pupils with hands-on experiences that deepened their understanding of Chinese culture and history.
The impact of the trip extended beyond the day’s activities and each pupil received two books from the organisers, serving as both a memento and a resource to further their exploration of Chinese language and culture.
