The event, led by the Head of Instrumental Music, Mr. Gibbs, and attended by CLS parents, pupils and staff, highlighted the depth and breadth of musical talent within the school community.
The concert featured a wonderful variety of performances, from the Chamber Orchestra and the String Sinfonia to the smaller piano trios and quartets. Each ensemble brought its own unique character to the stage, captivating the audience with a blend of classical precision and youthful energy.
Adding to the evening’s charm were performances by the Senior Flute and Senior Oboe ensembles, whose expressive interpretations added a lyrical dimension to the program.
A standout moment of the night was the solo performance by music scholar Yipeng, who delivered a moving rendition of Gerald Finzi’s Eclogue for Piano and Strings. Accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra, Yipeng’s sensitive and nuanced playing left a lasting impression on all in attendance.
