At the UK Championship, held at the amazing Copper Box Arena earlier this week, our inaugural joint CLS and CLSG robotics team delivered an exceptional performance across two days of intense national competition. We are thrilled to share that the team were awarded the Innovate Award, recognising the most creative, original and technically effective robot design in the entire competition.

This places CLS and CLSG as having produced the most innovative robot in the whole of the UK this season! This achievement came against an exceptionally strong field, including other leading schools such as St Paul’s, Westminster, St Paul’s Girls’ and a number of specialist engineering schools of excellence.

This success builds on their earlier performance at the Regional Qualifier, where the team secured the Inspire Award – the highest overall accolade in the competition. This marks the first time a rookie team has achieved this distinction in the history of the competition.

As a result of these outstanding achievements, the team have now been invited to compete at the International Finals, where they will represent the UK alongside the very best teams from around the world. This is an exceptional national achievement and a powerful indication of the level at which this team is already operating.

We look forward to supporting the team as they prepare for the international stage.
